A Standout Collaboration at Le Mans Classic 2025

Le Mans Classic is an event like no other. First held in 2002, this biennial celebration of motorsport history brings the most iconic racing cars of the 1920s to the 1980s back to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe. For one weekend, over 230,000 spectators witness vintage machinery pushed to its limits, in a spectacle that’s as much about heritage as it is about performance.

This year, we had the privilege of partnering with Manchester-based fashion powerhouse Represent for a unique collaboration, racing the legendary BMW 3.5L CSL, affectionately known as the “Batmobile.” Finished in a striking butter-yellow and navy livery reimagined by Represent, the car fused timeless motorsport heritage with modern design flair.

“The BMW CSL is literally an iconic motor car,” said Pegasus driver Ross Hyett. “I think blending that with Represent’s design is a genius idea. They’ve created another chapter for the car, which is fantastic.”

For Ross, this return to Le Mans marked a personal milestone… a comeback decades in the making. After standing on the Le Mans 24 Hours podium in 1989 and 1990, the dream was always to return with his sons, Charlie and Nick, to race the cars he once drove. “And that’s exactly what we did,” Ross said.

Charlie, who grew up watching his father race, added a personal connection to the collaboration: “I grew up in the north of England, not far from Manchester where Represent was created. When I was at school, Represent was a young brand, and me and my friends all loved it. So when I heard they wanted to do something with us, I was really excited.”

Le Mans Classic is a test like no other, physically, mentally, and mechanically. “At Le Mans, we were running in the top 1 or 2%,” Ross explained. “That requires the whole team. We get no sleep for 36 hours. Everyone has to work together, and you’re as strong as your weakest link.”

Charlie echoed the challenge: “One evening session, it started torrentially raining. Not only can you not see because of the dark, you’ve then got the spray and the rain. You’re hurtling at 180 mph-plus. You get out of the car exhilarated, but also thinking, ‘What an idiot, why have I just done that?’”

From the paddock to the podium, the collaboration with Represent brought together performance, style, and shared passion for motorsport heritage. As always, the commitment, skill, and dedication of the Pegasus team were key to making it happen.

This was more than just a race, it was a celebration of past and present, of iconic engineering and modern creativity, and of the family spirit at the heart of Pegasus Classic Engineering.
